CUTE, FUNCTIONAL, ECO DETAILS, January 14, 2010 This review is from: Keen Alameda 15 Inch Messenger Bag with Laptop Sleeve (Sports) The Keen Alameda Bag is an awesome laptop messenger bag perfect for school and travel and daily activities. I've been using this as an alternative to my backpack and I love it. It holds a ton of stuff without being unwieldy.
My laptop fits great in the soft padded computer pocket, it holds my food like a full lunch and emergency snacks, there's a place for a water bottle, and there's plenty of space for a sweater or jacket. There's a toggle for your keys, padded compartments for electronics like a camera or mp3 player, and I love the little pocket on the strap which holds my cell phone at close reach.
It's well made and durable and super cute. There are a lot of details that I really appreciate, such as a recycled rubber bottom, nice for when you're on the bus and set the bag down on the floor. I like the recycled metal clasp which allows you to adjust the length of the lightly padded strap. And the outer zippered compartment makes for quick access to... Read more

God Bag, Big Problem, November 5, 2010 This review is from: Keen Alameda 15 Inch Messenger Bag with Laptop Sleeve (Sports) My wife bought this bag for me for my laptop about a year ago. I like it pretty well but would prefer a better use of the space in the large interior compartments. The front organizer area isn't really big enough for the charger and spare battery and the larger main compartment doesn't have pockets or organizer type stuff so everything migrates to the bottom. I only use it about once a month so it's not a big deal. My biggest gripe though is the strap. I kept noticing all these black specs on my suits and thought I was just bumping into something. At first there were a few and now there are hundreds. In fact, it's the padding in the strap deteriorating and smearing all over my suits. This has made the bag virtually useless now because the strap is sewn to the bag so it can't be removed or replaced. I was able to have the suit jackets cleaned but really am not too happy. Keen stuff is usually really well made, but this is a pretty big design flaw.

I did a lot of research, and am happy to say that it payed off. I have used it, too. He has a 15'' Macbook and it fits perfectly. The most important feature that this bag has (that others are missing) is the handle on top. It is great for getting in and out of the car, easily. It is also a great looking bag, and doesn't have that "briefcase" look. Is has the right amount of pockets inside for storing and separating. I highly recommend this bag.
